Is it possible to install only mysqldump on macOS without MySQL itself.

I'm using MySQL db via Docker, but can't dump the DB from my local machine via MySQL Workbench.

/Applications/MySQLWorkbench.app/Contents/MacOS/mysqldump is version 5.7.17, but the MySQL Server to be dumped has version 5.7.20.

Do you have any suggestions on how to fix that and be able to make dumps from my local machine.

On Linux, you should be able to install the mysql-client package (which includes mysqldump, mysql, mysqladmin, etc.) without the mysql-server. You'd have to install the mysql-shared package too.

But I don't know of a package for MacOS that has these packages split up. The binary distribution for MacOS has everything.

You could install the MySQL package for MacOS and just ignore the fact that you have a mysqld instance. How to create a cross tab table in excel for mac 2016. Or you could stop the instance and configure it not to start automatically at bootup (the MacOS distribution includes a System Preferences applet for MySQL, where you can configure it).

If you want just the client on MacOS, you'd probably have to download the source and build it yourself. I think that's more trouble than it's worth. It would require installing Xcode, and figuring out how to build the client only, etc. This work would likely take hours.

I'd just install the MacOS distribution and be done with the task.

Usage¶

1. Verify you have run the product uninstaller. The Cleaner tool is NOT an uninstaller.

2. Double click to mount the AdobeAcroCleanerTool.dmg

3. Double click the file: AcroCleanerTool.app

4. Verify you want to continue, and choose Next.

5. Accept the EULA and choose Next.

6. Choose the product to remove and click Next.

7. Applications found installed are listed separately for both Acrobat and Reader. By default, all the listed applications will be selected for clean-up. Following buttons below the lists can be used to customize the list.

8. Remove button: Select the application you don’t want to uninstall and click ‘Remove’ button below that particular list.

9. Refresh button: You can repopulate the full list again using ‘Refresh’ button below that particular list.

10. Click the Clean button to remove the listed applications.

11. Press OK to confirm.

12. Provide an admin password in the admin prompt dialog. Cleanup processing begins.

13. When complete, press OK.

14. Press Quit to quit the app or choose View Log.

Known issues¶

• If you have both Acrobat and Reader installed, removing the product that is the default PDF viewer can result in the other product failing to become the new default PDF viewer. When this problem occurs, run Repair on the remaining product and reboot the machine to make the remaining product the default PDF handler.

• For Acrobat Pro Extended 9.x, the tool leaves the Acrobat entry in Add Remove Programs. To manually remove this entry, run an uninstallation from the ARP entry or manually remove the following registry entries:

  • Windows 32 Bit OS: HKLMSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionUninstall<Product-Code>

  • Windows 64 Bit OS: HKLMSOFTWAREWow6432NodeMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionUninstall<Product-Code>

During execution, a log file is created at:
